National Rehabilitation Hospital, Washington DC, patient Josh, bowling for the first time with the IKAN Bowler® . He finished with a score of 99. ‘WAY TO GO JOSH’!!

On September 29, 2005, Claude Giguere, co-inventor of the IKAN Bowler® , along with David Watkins, Executive Director of the IKAN Sports Foundation met with spinal cord injury patients from the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington DC for a demonstration of the bowler at the AMF Capital Plaza Lanes located in Hyattsville, MD. Following the outing, an IKAN Bowler® was donated to Beckey Lehman, Recreational Therapist for the National Rehabilitation Hospital.

October 11, 2005, Vincent Tifer, Founder, Chairman/Board of Directors of the MGT, along with Claude Giguere, co-inventor of the IKAN Bowler® and David Watkins, Executive Director of the IKAN Sports Foundation, invited Cathy Williams of the James A. Haley VA to bring a patient, Jerry Arthur, along to test the Bowler at the AMF University Lanes. Others invited to see the Bowler in action, were Gen. Leon Salomon (Retired), Leslie Paredes of the St Pete Times and the BayNews9 team from Tampa, FL. Following the outing, an IKAN Bowler® was donated to the James A. Haley VA, Tampa, FL.
Jerry Arthur, who averaged 230 prior to his accident, bowled a 135 on his second game today. ‘NICE GOING JERRY’!!!

Claude Giguere, co-inventor of the IKAN Bowler®, along with David Watkins, executive Director of the IKAN Sports Foundation met Renee Pettyjohn with the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Miami, FL at the Bird Bowl. Maurice Smith, patient from the VA Medical Center, shows his determination while Renee and Claude cheer him on. After the outing, an IKAN Bowler® was donated to the VA Medical Center for others to enjoy.


Englewood, Colorado-based Craig Hospital Rehabilitation patient Colin Heffern tries IKAN bowling for the first time.

IKAN Sports Foundation staff donated bowlers to the therapeutic recreation staff of Craig Hospital, one of the top spinal cord rehabilitation hospitals in the U.S.  The Foundation also created a loan bank of bowlers at the AMF Belleview in Englewood for others with physical challenges within the community to use for recreational and league play.
